Saratoga Education Foundation (SEF) would like to invite all Griffin family and friends to join us at our First Annual Saratoga 5K Fun Run & Walk followed by a festive filled with post-race activities, awards and food trucks open to all community members. On race day, it's Daylight Savings Time so spend the extra hour with us having fun, being active and building community! 

SEF raises funds to provide enrichment programs at our elementary schools (Argonaut, Foothill, Saratoga) and Redwood Middle Schools. These programs will not be possible without SEF funds. Learn more or donate directly at sef-ca.org

 Here's all the information you need to plan your day with us on Sunday November 6, 2022

• EARLY PACKET PICKUP has been arranged on Saturday Nov 5th at Redwood Middle School from 9AM to Noon (Redwood Middle front parking lot: 13925 Fruitvale Ave, Saratoga CA 95070)
• Early packet pickup is available for those registered before noon on Thursday Nov 3rd
• For those registered after Nov 3rd, race packets will be available on race day morning starting 6:30 AM near the START line on Allendale Ave. Please check the map on https://saratoga5kfunrun.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx
• FREE PARKING ON EVENT DAY is available in West Valley Parking Lot #3. Please plan to arrive early, park and safely use the crosswalks to get to the START line on Allendale Ave (near Joan Pisani Community Center).

TRAFFIC DELAYS: 

• Please be aware of traffic delays starting 7:30AM till about 10:00AM (in and around the Allendale/Fruitvale intersection) as the Sheriff’s department will be managing traffic to provide a safe course for our walkers and runners.
• Redwood onsite parking is only for our volunteers and race organizers who will be unloading and setting up in preparation for the event. 

GREEN PRACTICES: 

• SEF 5K event is committed to adopt environment friendly practices at the community level and you will be pleased to know that we have arranged 
• Compostable water cups at water stations along the course (at midpoint and the finish line). 
• Water refill stations will be available on campus. Please bring personal water containers for the post race festival. Redwood PTA table will have boxed water for sale with all proceeds going to Redwood PTA
• Personal reusable flatware is welcome
• Recycle bins will be available to dispose of recycle items separate from trash.

POST-RACE FESTIVAL IS FREE 

• Open to all runners and non-runners alike! There will be Awards, DJ, Food Trucks, Carnival Games, Raffle Drawings and more! You are welcome to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, etc to make yourself comfortable. 

NOV 6TH - RACE DAY TIMELINE (estimated times)

• 6:30AM - 7:45AM: Packet Pickup (Blacktop near Allendale START line)
  7:50AM: Line up for the race (START line)
  8:00AM: Race start (Marked route on Allendale Ave, Harleigh Dr, finish on Redwood Track)
  ~9:45AM: Kids Dash for Ages 6 and under (Redwood Track)
  ~10:00AM-1:00PM:  Post-Race Festival (Redwood Campus)
• Saratoga Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for SEF
• Music Showcase by 2nd and 3rd Graders (Teacher: Ms Jones)
• Awards, DJ, Carnival Games, Henna, Face Painting, Raffle Drawings and more
• Information tables from some of our generous Gold Sponsors and valued school partner organizations (PTAs, Boosters, Green Team)
